Markers are the communication backbone between editors, directors, and clients. They turn your timeline into a collaborative workspace where feedback is pinned to exact frames.

Adding and Managing Markers

  1. Park your playhead at the frame you want to mark
  2. Press M to drop a marker
  3. Double-click the marker to open the Marker dialog
  4. Add a name, comment, and duration
  5. Set a color to categorize: Red (problem), Yellow (feedback), Green (approved), Blue (music hit)

Marker-Based Review Workflow

Before sending a cut for review, place markers at every section that needs client attention: "Option A or B for this transition?", "Awaiting final logo file", "Music cue โ€” approve?". When feedback comes back, the client can reference marker numbers instead of vague timecodes.

Exporting Markers

Markers export with your project if you use Premiere's built-in review tools or Frame.io integration. This means the entire revision history is preserved โ€” no more lost email threads or conflicting Google Doc feedback.
